At Long Last, a Real Update

I am fairly certain I have the automations working correctly, so it’s time for a full update.

It has been months since I have shared with y’all where I stand in the Uruguay relocation, mostly because nothing has changed. I have completed all of the vaccinations that I needed, which ended up being 9 shots in total. That was a great time. All paperwork is completed, notarized, and apostilled for translation when I arrive in Montevideo. My Spanish lessons are going well, and I don’t seem to be dropping German words into my sentences as much as when I started. That’s going to be a hard one to fix. I constantly want to say Bitte instead of Por Favor.

Now the bad, I am still sitting on my damn house and the market is not helping it at all. Everyone comes in asking for 50k off the price or it doesn’t get showings. We have reduced price 3 times, and I finally made the decision last week to pull the listing for a week and start over. Nothing can progress till the house is sold and it is frustrating beyond belief. In my house is one TV, one chair, a desk, a coffee table and a bed with no frame. I am going nuts from boredom.

Once the house is sold, I can begin the monetary side of the relocation, and finally give my two weeks notice to the job I have overstayed my welcome at. The one nice thing is this delay actually allowed me to make it to the end of the project I was running at work. I can at least sleep knowing it was done well and completely. But its a small comfort when all you want to do is move forward. Its like those last 2 months of High School when you knew it was almost over and you were eager to get out. Only it keeps resetting like Groundhog day every morning without a contract. It feels like penance.
